There has been immense rise in the number of pubs / lounges in Pune. The long lasting night life have lazed people around the city. A late night party makes you skip your important meal of the day i.e. breakfast which is why we look for some late breakfast or early lunch, popularly known as brunch these days.
I was recently invited for brunch at Hoppipola, as they recently started their hoppi-brunch menu. They offer you food or food and drinks packages. A certified graphologist is also available to analyse your handwriting along with a vastu expert.
They have both inside and outside seating. The outdoor seating has comfy chairs under the tree shade. One of the walls has number of clocks showing different time zones while the roof has multiple airplane models hanging from it. Overall, a pleasant ambiance to spend time with your family or friends.
Food and Drinks:
Hoppipola has a special menu of drinks for brunch in both cocktails and mocktails.
This mocktail was a mixture of all fruit juices garnished with pineapple and pomegranates. It was a refreshing drink for a sunny afternoon. A must try drink for all the non-alcoholics.
Sex on the roof:
There were many cocktails on the brunch menu, but I was hogging on only this drink. This is an elusive brother of sex on the beach with the only exception of the base being changed from vodka to beer. This drink will straight away hit your nerves and will keep you happily high all the while.
The Mezze Platter:
This plate was filled with paneer skewers, hummus, pita, and aloo tikkis along with some dips. Paneer was soft and spicy and the hummus and pita were typically perfect.
They were no exception to the delicious ordeal they were serving us. The Nachos were topped with tomatoes, spring onions and cheese. The plate was emptied as soon as it reached the table.
Paneer Chettinad Wrapped Pita Parcels:
The pita was rather dry. The paneer stuffing was bland with no salt or any other flavours. This was a big disappointment.
Barbecued Chicken Wings:
These chicken wings were the utterly delicious. The chicken was BBQd to perfection and the BBQ honey sauce added the perfect sweet flavour to the tender wings.
Railway Canteen Chicken Cutlet:
These were a little undercooked. The outer coating also was not crispy enough. Served with ketchup this dish did not please me.
Chicken Tikka Pizza:
This thin crust pizza was topped with jalapenos, bell peppers, capsicum, and small chicken pieces. The chicken was juicy and tender. All the ingredients complemented each other well which made it a lip smackingly perfect dish.
A big thank you to Joel for inviting and Maanas Shah for extending the invite and Team Hoppipola for hosting us.
