Pizza and Biryani at Charcoal Eats

Kalyani nagar is one of the happening places in Pune. And you just cannot miss any of the food outlets out there waiting for you eagerly to relish on their delicacies.

Recently I was invited to charcoal eats over a dinner to enjoy delicious meal they serve.

Ambiance:

A very small place with few tables nicely arranged for groups, couples and singles as well. Wall is decorated with food paintings.

One side is glass door while facing it is service counter and above wall marked scribbled with menu.

Food:

For starters we had Paneer Tikka, Chicken malai tikka and Chicken seekh kebab. The best of three was the chicken malai tikka which had soft texture, delicious taste of malai and well cooked chicken.

While chicken seekh kebab was very dry. Though chicken was properly cooked, it only tasted good with chutney served with it.

Paneer tikka was something I really didn’t like there. Hard paneer skewered in between capsicum and onion. It lacked taste of marinating flavours it had. Everything was wrong about the dish. Not a recommend for sure.

For Biryanis, we had chicken tikka biryani and dilliwala butter chicken biryani. Portions served were enough for one person to finish it.

Rice in both the biryanis were well cooked and well made. The flavours in dilliwala butter chicken were perfect. It had authentic butter chicken taste which made rice more flavourful.

Chicken tikka biryani didn’t live not up-to my expectations. It did lacked that spicy tikka flavours. Though it did add some taste to rice, I was not really happy with it.

Chicken pieces in the first biryani were juicy while in the later one was good enough to gulp down.

They serve really unique pizzas with puff used as base. As I was full so I only had Bombay masala pizza.

It had the authentic Bombay masala feel while you relish upon its flavours. Other puff pizzas on the table were chicken tikka pizza and chicken piri piri pizza. As per other blogger friends they did score well on their taste buds.

Thank you Maanas Shah and team Project PR for extending invite and team Charcoal eats for hosting us.
